GFT Infrastructure Inc. is seeking an Entry Level Transmission Line Drafter to join our Power Business Group in our Monroeville, PA office. This role follows a hybrid-remote work format. As an Entry Level Transmission Line Drafter, you will support electric utility and power transmission projects by preparing detailed engineering drawings and construction documents for overhead transmission line projects. You will work directly with experienced engineers and designers. Fall 2026 graduates are encouraged to apply! In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: Provide drafting support to transmission line engineers and senior drafters. Prepare and/Develop construction drawing packages. Develop plan and profile drawings utilizing data and exports from PLS-CADD software. Develop structure detail, reinforcement, and assembly drawings. Develop structure loading drawings using engineer-provided loading calculations and standard structure details. Prepare permitting exhibits for highway, railroad, and waterway crossings. Learn and implement client-specific drafting standards and quality requirements.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, CADD Technology, or related field.
- 0-3 years of Drafting experience.
- Demonstrated interest in power, electrical, or transmission line design through applied academic coursework, internships, or related experiences.
- Exposure to developing general arrangement drawings, structure details, reinforcement drawings, and assemblies.
- Basic proficiency in AutoCAD.
Nice To Haves
- Working knowledge of MicroStation.
- Experience with PLS-CADD software.
- Experience with plan and profiles and loading drawings.
- Knowledge of standard transmission line structures, assemblies, and construction practices.
