About The Position

We are looking for a talented and experienced Journeyman Lineman to join our Xcel Energy Transmission Lines, Construction, and Maintenance team in Golden, Colorado! Selection criteria will also include an interview and pre-employment written and hands-on testing that will take place at a company training facility (personal tools and equipment are not provided). This position starts at $63.95 per hour. The pay bumps up to $73.93 per hour after bare hand and long line training is complete or after 120 days from start for transmission line workers. As a Journeyman Lineman, you will perform all duties of the lineman classification that involve overhead and underground electric transmission systems. Must be willing to do live line bare hand and helicopter long lining activities. You will need to be self-motivated, work well with others and possess a positive attitude. A strong commitment to work safely, provide quality customer service, create customer satisfaction and to work productively are a must in this position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must presently hold a Journeyman Lineman Certificate.
  • Will be required to provide proof of successful completion of a recognized Lineman Apprenticeship.
  • Must meet driver qualification requirements, including the possession of a valid Commercial Drivers License (Class A CDL).
  • Requires participation in after-hour emergency call-outs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to successfully work with customers on a wide range of concerns.
  • Must be self-motivated and possess a positive attitude.
  • Demonstrated commitment to work productively and safely.
  • Applicant is required to successfully pass the Xcel Energy screening requirements, which include a drug test and security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Willing to travel for extended periods of time, 50% travel required.
  • For External and Non-Xcel Energy Journeyman candidates, verification of Journeyman Lineman qualifications and knowledge will include written testing and/or practical skills evaluation during the application process.
