About The Position

The Transmission Coordinator is responsible for end-to-end planning of broadcast events for new and existing clients. The Transmission Coordinator should be able to assess a client’s needs and match them with the most efficient and cost-effective manner, while managing the urgency that comes with working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. The Transmission Coordinator needs to be able to react quickly to ever-changing requirements and work closely with sales and operations departments to overcome challenges that may arise. The role will also undertake bookings and scheduling tasks working as part of the wider operational team, at times requiring the Transmission Coordinator to be responsible with securing price quotes from vendors, scheduling and planning events and ultimately overseeing the final billing process.

Requirements

  • 1-3+ years experience and a 4-year degree (or additional experience).
  • Works well under the pressure of Live Television.
  • General understanding and experience with transmission and production.
  • Team player and prepared to learn new skills, embrace, and nurture a culture of change and positive attitude.
  • Schedule flexibility with the ability to work late nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish skills beneficial.
  • Sports fan and knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate events, liaising with clients and taking ownership for all parts of the planning process.
  • Organize and approve freelancer invoices in a timely manner.
  • Schedule internal and external resources within the VMS, including technical equipment, third-party resources, and personnel.
  • Assess the most efficient and effective methods of delivery to meet customer requirements before scheduling, striving for the best value for both client and NEP Connected Solutions.
  • Maximize transmission resource utilization, specifically fiber, IP, & satellite capacity bookings for Domestic and International events.
  • Coordinate production resources and requirements such as mobile production units, crewing, independent production contractors, generators, and ancillary related services.
  • Act as the lead assigned coordinator to packages and/or specific client accounts, managing all transmission and production requests, handling end-to-end scheduling, and executing all associated internal and client paperwork.
  • Work within budget provided by or collaborated with the sales team on all projects.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Production, MCR, and Accounting departments to ensure accuracy of all bookings and the ultimate success of projects from all aspects: scheduling, broadcast, and accounting.
  • Become familiar with Connected Solutions Systems, VMS (Master Scheduling System), VMS-2 (Production Schedule), Live Events Grid, Routing Sheets, Tech Books, Transmission Partners (Third-party) scheduling platforms and Rate Cards, AT&T, Intelsat, SES, The Switch, LTN, TATA, Plus Others, Production Partners, Regional & National Crewing Companies, Mobile Production Providers, Tech Managers, Generator Providers, and other production-related providers within 90 days.
  • Manage updating the Connected Solutions Live Events Grid as required.
  • Manage own events, projects, and/or assigned clients’ needs.
  • Lead the Operations Department during busy workload days, covering for the Director of Operations.
