About The Position

Provide market, financial and utility industry analysis for developing business unit strategic initiatives. Benchmark the applicable business unit's The Transmission Business Analyst Sr. level and/or Principal level will provide market, financial and utility industry analysis for developing business unit strategic initiatives. They will benchmark the applicable business unit's organizational performance with both non-utility and utility organizations. The successful candidate will provide data to monitor the competitiveness of the applicable business unit and offer solutions to improve the business unit organization's efficiency. Analysts work closely with the business unit management to analyze industry trends and best practices and establish and maintain effective working relationships within the business unit organization, and with internal and external customers. The ideal or preferred candidate will be local to the area and have good knowledge of the utility and the community.

Requirements

  • Minimum Requirements for SG 06 Business Analyst Sr. Bachelor's Degree and minimum of 4 years of experience as a Business Analyst or 4 years of business case creation, business analysis and benchmarking. Associates Degree and minimum of 6 years of experience as a Business Analyst Associate or business case creation, business analysis and benchmarking.
  • Minimum Requirements for SG 08 Business Analyst Principal Bachelor's Degree and minimum of 8 years of experience as a Business Analyst or 8 years of business case creation, business analysis and benchmarking. Associates Degree and minimum of 10 years of experience as a Business Analyst Associate or 10 years of business case creation, business analysis and benchmarking.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and investigate internal and external market conditions and prepare reports to support recommendations on trends, best practices etc.
  • Identify potential savings opportunities and develop supporting business cases and alternatives to recognize those savings.
  • Communicate relevant data with the appropriate business unit and also with the other business unit and external contacts.
  • Develop reports and perform periodic studies necessary to analyze the business units strategic goals to maximize the efficiency of the organization.
  • Maintain, interpret and analyze pertinent data and make presentations to internal and external customers.
  • Analyze and review business unit contracts/work to assure adherence to contract/work standards and agreements.
