About The Position

The Transloader position is responsible for various aspects of inventory management and product handling within a transload facility. This role involves receiving and preparing products for transport, ensuring quality control, and operating material handling equipment safely and efficiently. The position requires adherence to standard operating procedures and safety guidelines, including working at heights and potentially wearing respiratory protection. The company emphasizes safety as a core value, expecting all employees to demonstrate safety advocacy and professionalism in their daily activities.

Requirements

  • Read, write, and understand English
  • Basic math skills
  • Computer skills (light data entry)
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Capable to learn how to operate and maintain railcar/trans loading equipment (e.g., Hoses, portable conveyors, transfer pumps, portable stair systems, small to medium sized equipment, etc.)
  • Ability and willingness to travel to other transload terminals to assist when necessary
  • Physically able to climb up and down railcars/ladders safely
  • Willing to receive general safety training
  • Ability to work outside in ALL weather conditions (snow, rain, sub-freezing temps)
  • Willing to work with liquid hazardous and dry bulk materials
  • Can carry at least fifty (50) pounds
  • In good physical condition (able to walk one (1) to two (2) miles per shift)
  • Successfully complete a background check and drug test prior to start date

Responsibilities

  • Outbound and inbound inventory receiving
  • Complete damage reports for product, wrapping, pallet, bundle, and crate
  • Safely and timely prepare and load products for transport
  • Safely and timely stage products for loading
  • Safely and timely load products onto truck and/or railcar
  • Responsible for quality control, specifically for damaged products
  • Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs)
  • Operate sit down forklifts and other material handling equipment
  • Perform daily forklift safety checks, preventive maintenance, and report any issues
  • Communicate with team members and supervisors
  • Keep clean and maintain work area
  • Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use
  • Facilitate the loading from railcars into tank trucks, ensuring safe and efficient transfer of bulk liquid products
  • Perform tasks involving lifting, carrying, and working in various positions for vehicle inspections and load/unload cargo, including hoses and dunnage
  • Work at heights above 4 ft and don appropriate fall protection PPE
  • Be certified to wear a respirator and meet all requirements of the respiratory program
  • Other duties as assigned
