About The Position

Cando Rail & Terminals is a North American provider of specialized rail operating services and terminal infrastructure, helping industrial shippers optimize supply chains and connect to Class I railways. Services include industrial switching, material handling, terminal and transload services, short line operations, railcar staging, train assembly, and related services.

Railcar Loaders / Transload Operators safely load and unload railcars while complying with operational, environmental, and safety standards. The position involves operating transloading equipment; handling hazardous and non-hazardous materials; conducting inspections; completing documentation; and supporting rail operations as needed. Hourly pay is $24–$26, based on experience. This safety-sensitive role may require overtime, weekend and holiday work, and occasional travel based on operational needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Mechanical aptitude and strong teamwork skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working at heights.
• Must meet customer and regulatory safety requirements, including background screening.

Responsibilities

• Safely load and unload railcars and transfer products.
• Operate transloading equipment, pumps, compressors, conveyors, and mobile equipment.
• Perform inspections, troubleshoot equipment, and make minor repairs.
• Complete operational logs and safety documentation.
• Follow company, customer, and regulatory safety procedures.
• Promptly report safety concerns and equipment issues.
• Support switching crews and other site operations as required.
