Transload Operator
About The Position
Cando Rail & Terminals is North America’s leading provider of specialized rail operating services and terminal infrastructure that allow industrial shippers to optimize their supply chains and connect to Class I railways by leveraging Cando’s operating capabilities and network of owned multi-purpose rail terminals. The company provides a wide range of rail services including industrial switching, material handling, terminal & transload services, short line operations, railcar staging, train assembly, and related services. Hourly pay for this position will be between $24-26 per hour, based on experience. This position is safety-sensitive and may require overtime, weekends, holidays, and occasional travel based on operational needs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Valid Driver’s License required
- Mechanical aptitude and strong teamwork skills
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Comfortable performing physically demanding work, including climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working at heights
- Must meet customer and regulatory safety requirements, including background screening
Nice To Haves
- Industrial or hazardous materials experience considered an asset
Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload railcars and transfer products
- Operate transloading equipment, pumps, compressors, conveyors, and mobile equipment
- Perform inspections, troubleshooting, and minor equipment repairs
- Complete operational logs and safety documentation
- Follow all company, customer, and regulatory safety procedures
- Report safety concerns and equipment issues promptly
- Support switching crews and other site operations as required
