About The Position

As a Transload Laborer, you’ll be on the front lines of rail operations—loading and unloading bulk materials safely and efficiently to keep product moving. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, operating equipment, and playing a key part in day-to-day terminal operations. You’ll work with railcars, trucks, and material-handling equipment while keeping a close eye on safety, accuracy, and equipment performance.

Requirements

At least 1 year of work experience operating equipment such as forklifts, conveyors, pumps, and heavy machinery
Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment
High school diploma or GED; or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience
Valid driver’s license
At least 18 years of age
Pre-employment physical, hearing, and vision medical review
Subject to federally mandated drug and alcohol testing including pre-employment drug screening
Background screening including criminal and motor vehicle driving history
Must live within 50 miles of assigned location or be willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

Load and unload chemicals and bulk solids such as stone, sand, and grain into or from railcars and trucks using moving equipment
Observe position of cars passing loading spouts and swing spouts and correct as necessary
Operate loading and unloading equipment, conveyors, hoists, and other specialized material-handling equipment
Monitor product movement to and from railcars and trucks to ensure constant product flow
Perform required equipment inspections on each shift; complete vehicle maintenance forms
Comply with all general safety and operating rules
Assist railroad crews with various rail-related tasks to facilitate loading and staging of railcars
Assist with other projects and perform other duties as assigned
