About The Position

The Translator Coordinator is responsible for processing internal requests for translation and revision into French to ensure compliance with Canadian language laws and to offer a quality French experience for employees, customers, and consumers. Reporting to the Director, Language Services, this position will focus on coding new requests and acting as a liaison between stakeholders, team members, and external vendors on translation matters. They will also be responsible for distributing work within the team and translating texts from English to French. Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in the translation field in a corporate setting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in English to French translation, or equivalent
  • Fluently bilingual in English and French, with strong written translation and editing capabilities
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple requests and deadlines
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and proactively manage priorities
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills across diverse teams
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with translation tools or CAT software (e.g., MemoQ, FlowFit or similar) is an asset
  • Curiosity and a continuous improvement mindset, with an interest in optimizing workflows and processes

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate end-to-end translation and French editing requests, including intake, prioritization, assignment, and delivery
  • Translate and proofread content from English to French, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with company terminology
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to clarify requirements, set expectations, and ensure high-quality outcomes
  • Partner with external translation vendors and internal team members to manage deliverables and timelines
  • Support document preparation through formatting, layout, and pre-translation analysis using translation tools
  • Maintain and update translation memories and terminology databases to ensure consistency and efficiency
  • Conduct terminology research to support accurate and culturally appropriate translations
  • Contribute to process improvements and support special projects as needed
