About The Position

Magical Beginnings is hiring a Classroom Teacher for their new Toddler/Preschool Transitional Classroom. This role focuses on the development and education of children aged 2 to 3.5 years old. The position requires a creative, positive, engaging team player who enjoys working with like-minded educators in a fun and energetic environment.

Requirements

  • EEC Teacher Infant/Toddler/Preschool Certification or CDA (required)
  • Daycare experience in a center-based, private, or public school setting
  • An energetic approach to learning and a positive attitude
  • Curiosity, creativity, and a strong team-focused mindset
  • Flexibility to work an 8-hour shift within the operating hours of the school, including opening and closing shifts
  • Ability to spend extended periods of time on the floor with the children
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to stand up to 90% of the workday
  • Attentiveness, strong time management, and strong collaboration skills

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with co-teacher to prepare curriculum, lesson plans, materials, and monthly newsletters.
  • Keeping parents informed via the Class Dojo app and classroom boards.
  • Providing a safe environment by maintaining orderly, clean, and appealing classrooms.
  • Encouraging children's participation through age-appropriate interactive activities.
  • Maintaining classroom cleanliness, including routine opening/closing tasks like wiping toys, cleaning tables, vacuuming, sanitizing, cleaning bathrooms, emptying trash, and preparing the classroom for the next day.
  • Engaging with students in free play, supervising outdoor time, assisting with bathroom needs and diapering, assisting with snacks and meals (preparing, heating, cutting food, opening containers, supervision), and assisting with naptime.
  • Adhering to the school's structured schedules.
  • Tracking children's progress and completing assessments.
  • Maintaining EEC required professional development hours and PQ registry.
  • Attending monthly staff meetings.
  • Creating a fun and safe learning environment for students.
  • Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with students and parents.
