Raytheon’s Advanced Technologies (AT), Advanced Effectors and Space SSBU is seeking a skilled and motivated Transition to Production Chief Engineer for a missile program. In this position, you will lead the transition of a highly sophisticated missile from the development phase to production. You will be the technical executive providing tactical directions for program execution and maintaining program cadence to ensure contract deliverables are being met. This is an onsite position based in Tucson, AZ.

Requirements

  • Typically requires degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with system development and design, requirements development, management, verification, system integration and test, and production.
  • Experience leading engineering teams.
  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain special program access after start.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required as only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a Chief Engineer
  • Experience transitioning a product from MRL6 to MRL8+
  • Experience building collaboration across programs and functional boundaries (ie outside of engineering)
  • Strong communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical execution of a multidisciplinary team to achieve the transition of a complex advanced technologies developed missile into production
  • The Chief Engineer serves as the primary technical point of contact with customer counterparts, internal program management and engineering leadership.
  • Engage with major suppliers to assure deliverables meet technical and schedule constraints
  • Work seamlessly with the currently executing development program to assure requirements are appropriately balanced with producibility
  • Develop a test strategy vision which adheres to needs of a common group of programs
  • Implement and chair program execution boards (FRACAS, risk board, ERB, CCB)
