Transition Job Coach
About The Position
This is a Classified position for a Transition Job Coach funded by a Transition School to Work (TSW) grant. It is a 10-month position that works under the guidance of the Director of Special Education and Transition Case Manager for Laudedale County School System. The role involves assisting the Transition Case Manager with referrals for Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) services, attending meetings, and building positive relationships with students receiving transition and VR services. The coach will also attend district trainings and TSW Job Fairs, and will be responsible for teaching students various skills.

Responsibilities
- Assists the Transition case Manager in completing referrals on students for possible Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) services.
- Attends meetings with the Transition Case Manager.
- Build positive relationships with all students receiving transition services and VR services.
- Attend district trainings and TSW Job Fairs.
- Teach students job skills, interview skills, and provide hands-on job experience within the local community.
- Teach students independent living skills, self advocacy, proper personal hygiene and how to work properly with co-workers.
- Teach a basic job skills curriculum.
- Teach students how to incorporate technology skills into a work environment.
- Communicate with high school Work Base Learning teachers.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
