The Transit Inventory Specialist performs responsible administrative and technical work in the development, purchase/ordering, maintenance, issuance, and inventory of parts and supplies for a fleet of light, medium and heavy vehicles, and equipment. The work is performed under the general supervision of the Transit Maintenance Manager. This position is currently assigned to the evening shift, with hours of approximately 12:30 PM–9:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and may require occasional Saturday work. Schedule is subject to change based on operational needs. The hiring amount for this position is $27.30 an hour ($56,784.00 annually) in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1220 and the City of Charlottesville. The pay rate listed shall apply to individuals hired into this position on or after July 1, 2026.
