About The Position

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP (WRA) is seeking a College Intern to join their Transit team in Baltimore, MD. This role will serve as the College Assistant for the 2027 MTA Red Line High School Internship program, which aims to engage high school students from Baltimore City/County in the Red Line Transit Project. The program will expose students to educational and career opportunities in transportation through meaningful projects supporting the design and engineering of the Red Line. The College Assistant will work directly with WRA senior staff to plan, lead, and engage these high school interns over a 6-week period, supporting the day-to-day management of the students.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Transportation Systems, Transportation and Highway Engineering, Civil Engineering, Planning/Urban Planning, Architecture, or other related undergraduate program from an accredited institution. Preferred completion of 2 years of the program.
• Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
• Effective oral/written communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and manage time accordingly.
• Positive attitude and willingness to work cooperatively with others.
• Willingness to take on new challenges and learn more about the field while working on these challenges.
• Experience working with Microsoft Office programs.
• Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Work under direction of senior staff.
• Assist in managing three summer high school interns hired to work in the MTA Red Line High School internship program.
• Schedule and prepare assignments and activities for interns.
• Prepare and deliver presentations.
• Conduct basic research and data collection.
• Assist in the development of graphics, presentation materials and reports.
• Assist project team members with various support tasks.
