About The Position

The Transit Driver operates a public transit vehicle to transport passengers along designated routes and schedules, assists passengers with boarding and exiting as needed, operates wheelchair lifts, and ramps, and collects fares. The Transit Driver communicates with the dispatcher, supervisors, and other transit personnel by radio, maintains assigned routes and schedules, and provides passengers with basic information about routes, stops, schedules, transfers, and transit services, performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and performs other assigned duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate passenger endorsement

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience operating a bus, commercial vehicle, or other large passenger vehicle is preferred
