Access Starts with a Safe Ride. At Omega Health Services, we believe that access to care starts with a safe ride. We are looking for a dedicated Transit Driver to join our Martinsburg team. In this role, you aren’t just driving a vehicle; you are a vital link in our care network, ensuring our patients and staff reach their destinations with dignity, safety, and comfort. We are specifically seeking a local transit expert who knows and loves the community, is comfortable navigating our city's unique layout, and can seamlessly manage our surrounding regional routes.

Requirements

  • Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a Passenger (P) Endorsement.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience.
  • Strong, functional knowledge of Martinsburg, WV, and the surrounding Berkeley and Jefferson County road networks.
  • A clean driving record with no major violations or at-fault accidents within the last 3 years.
  • Ability to successfully pass a comprehensive physical and mandatory pre-employment drug/alcohol screenings.
  • Minimum of 18 years old (21+ if interstate transport is required).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare transport, shuttle services, or transit settings is preferred.
  • Prior experience operating passenger transit buses in a clinical or paratransit environment.
  • Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and emergency roadside safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Execute scheduled and on-demand transit routes in a safe, courteous, and defensive manner, strictly adhering to all West Virginia traffic laws and Omega safety protocols.
  • Conduct rigorous pre-trip and post-trip inspections (fluids, brakes, tires, safety gear).
  • Maintain a clean vehicle and report mechanical needs immediately.
  • Provide hands-on, respectful assistance for passengers with mobility challenges, including professional boarding/de-boarding and the expert securing of wheelchairs and assistive devices.
  • Keep meticulous, accurate logs for trips, mileage tracking, fuel consumption, and passenger counts.
