About The Position

Hatch is seeking a Transit Business Analyst Intern to join their Infrastructure team. This internship offers an opportunity to support global offices from the Denver, CO location. The company emphasizes a flat organizational structure, fostering openness and participation, and focuses on building practical, safe, innovative, and sustainable solutions with a goal of achieving no harm. The role is based in an in-office environment, encouraging in-person interaction and collaboration, though flexibility for remote work when needed is provided. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, data analytics, economics, mathematics, or a relevant field.
  • Minimum of a cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
  • Interest in learning how to write Power BI reports.
  • Strong leadership initiative, commitment to excellence and personal growth.
  • Keen interest in mining, metals, energy, or infrastructure and supporting technical and business management.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft office suite, specifically PowerPoint and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and/or assist in the preparation of cost models, financial models or business cases for projects and initiatives, for external clients and within Hatch.
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources and reconciling conflicts.
  • Deconstruct high level information to identify the underlying fundamental drivers and aggregating detailed information to inform a holistic understanding.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with internal customers to analyze information needs and deliver written reports, presentations, and verbal reports, as needed.
  • Collect and summarize information using data collected from existing data sources, document analysis, workshops, surveys, and business process descriptions.
  • Prepare cases and scenarios to assist analysts and consultants.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to analyze tradeoffs between planned objectives and business performance needs.
  • Assist with administrative support, as required.
  • Successfully manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Perform assignments related to your sector.
  • Assist with preparation of detailed design for projects.
  • Support preparation of drawings from detailed notes and specifications.
  • Coordination with other technicians/engineers on projects.
  • Provide support to Senior Engineers and Designers as and when needed.
