About The Position

The RN - Transfusion shall be responsible to provide direct and indirect patient care. This individual will be responsible for a variety of nursing functions although they may specialize in one particular area. The RN is responsible for basic nursing assessment, medication administration and side effect management, patient education, EMR documentation, and care coordination in accordance with provider orders and treatment protocols. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.

Requirements

• Degree in Nursing required.
• At least 1-year critical care or oncology experience.
• Active RN licensure required.
• BLS required.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software.
• Strong team leadership skills.
• Strong organization, interpersonal, and customer relations skills.
• Must be able to meet strict deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Must be able to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to remain calm in difficult situations.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Proven track record of successful performance.
• Ability to understand complex multifactor situations and bring appropriate solutions.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, Chemo, TNCC, etc.) may be required upon area assigned.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care.
• Perform basic nursing assessment.
• Administer medications and manage side effects.
• Educate patients.
• Document in EMR.
• Coordinate care in accordance with provider orders and treatment protocols.
• Supervise and train employees, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
• Observe, assess, and record work, safety, and infection control standards.
