About The Position

The Dalles Disposal, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a Part-Time Transfer Station Attendant to join their team. This is a safety-sensitive position that requires the attendant to greet and direct customers, operate heavy equipment, measure trucks, calculate payments, and track information in a computer system. The role also involves ensuring loads are safe, assisting with office duties, and enforcing safety procedures and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The position requires working outdoors in all weather conditions and involves physical labor, including lifting up to 50+ lbs repeatedly. The company offers year-round work in the stable garbage industry.

Requirements

Valid Drivers License & Clean Motor Vehicle Report.
Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
Must be dependable with an ability to lead.
Ability to work in all weather conditions.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly throughout the day.
Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.

Responsibilities

Greet and direct all customers and employees upon entry of the transfer station.
Safely and efficiently operate work truck, forklift, backhoe, and/or front-end loader.
Measure trucks in and out and calculating payments for customers.
Track measurement information in computer system.
Ensuring that incoming garbage loads are safe and do not contain any inappropriate material.
Work on your feet outside throughout your shift.
Performs full clerical and general office duties.
Assisting with office duties, filing and paperwork as needed.
Ensure that customers and employees conduct all business in a safe manner and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
