About The Position

This role involves communicating on all aspects of incoming transfer funds for new and existing files across multiple product lines and systems. The Transfer Specialist will review, process, and follow up with other carriers and agents on transfer paperwork, identifying any requirements that are not in good order and ensuring correspondence satisfies those needs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent Required
  • Working knowledge of a PC and Microsoft Office products
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and independently to process work accurately and meet deadlines
  • Ability to understand your role on our team and work cohesively with team members
  • Proven ability to adapt to frequent change and to think with a future focus mindset
  • Close attention to detail in a high volume environment
  • Ability to work periodic overtime, sometimes with relatively short notice
  • Criminal background check required.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 1 year of operations experience (i.e. annuity, financial, or insurance) Preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of customer service experience Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Independently conduct initial review of transfer paperwork and make judgment and decisions that fall within prescribed policies and limits, including government regulations, regarding transfer paperwork and correspondence.
  • Handle correspondence and other documents within established company standards, including matching documents to appropriate accounts (i.e. electronic and paper files), verifying output for accuracy, and mailing and faxing paperwork to agents or other companies.
  • Maintain appropriate detail in documentation of policy files in administrative systems regarding additional requirements, correspondence, and subsequent relevant activity as a result of communications by phone or in writing.
  • Communicate in writing to agents on specific statuses of incoming transfer funds.
  • Print, prepare, and mail transfer paperwork to other carriers, including any additional correspondence that may make the paperwork in good order for the transfer to be processed.
  • Follow up via phone and email with other carriers regarding the status of the transfer of funds to our pending applications and in-force policies. Take necessary action with the information provided by that carrier within our systems.
  • Provide information upon request to internal team members regarding the status or any requirements for an incoming transfer on pending applications and in-force policies.
  • Provide timely and accurate customer service by reviewing duplicate policy request correspondence and preparing, assembling, and mailing of duplicate policies.
  • Monitor personal work to verify accuracy and to ensure compliance with company standards and regulations.
  • Process a variety of tasks and high volumes of work in a fast paced, time-sensitive environment.
