About The Position

Ryder is immediately hiring and seating a Class A CDL Shuttle Driver. This position offers weekly pay, a competitive hourly rate with a shift differential, and a consistent Monday to Friday schedule with local home daily routes. Drivers will be responsible for shuttling equipment and P&D trucks between Ryder customer facilities, delivering parts, road testing trucks, and supporting the fueler and rental departments. The freight is No Touch, involving empty trailers for equipment shuttle transfer movement. Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Responsibilities

• Safely driving a commercial vehicle and requires compliance with safety & DOT Regulations, continuous training and customer service
• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
• Maintaining accurate records and logs
• Other tasks as assigned
• Shuttle equipment between Ryder Customer Facilities
• Transfer P&D trucks from customers yard to Ryder shops
• Transfer P&D trucks for other Ryder locations
• Transfer P&D parts for our shop and other ryder locations
• Road test trucks for our techs
• Support our fueler with the origination our yard
• Support rental department with trucks transfers
• Transferring rental equip/ delivering trucks to customers, parts (straight trucks, vans, day cabs, sleepers, cabovers, etc.. based on what needs to be transferred)
