About The Position

This Co-op position is from January to June 2027 and is based onsite in Waltham, MA. The Transducer Manufacturing Engineering Co-op will assist the Transducer Production Engineering department with design, testing, and documentation. The Co-op will be a member of a multi-disciplinary team comprised of manufacturing, electromechanical, and acoustic engineers. Projects will include fixture development, process optimization and engineering changes. As a co-op working with our Transducer PENG team, you will be empowered and encouraged to be hands-on. You will contribute to our mission by working with the Production Engineering, Quality and Product Management teams.

Requirements

Currently pursuing BS or MS degree in Physics, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or other Engineering discipline
Strong background in physics is a plus
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different function
Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
Must be a U.S. Person to be considered for these positions due to export-control-restricted work locations or access to export-controlled information.

Nice To Haves

Programming experience in LabView, VB.net or C# preferred
Experience with simple circuits and tuning components (capacitors, inductors) is a plus
Experience with oscilloscopes, multi-meters, pulser/receivers is a plus

Responsibilities

Lead primary project assigned for the co-op term from start to completion
Assist Sr. Acoustics Engineer in evaluation, development and implementation of new test systems and protocols
Assist production and production engineering team with other projects and tasks as needed
Collecting and analyzing manufacturing data using Excel, Power BI and internal software tools.
Conducting process audits and time studies, proposing improvements based on Lean Manufacturing principles.
Evaluating ergonomics and safety within the Manufacturing operations.
Conduct studies and propose improvements to the test process flow and spatial utilization based on Lean Manufacturing principles
Read and understand basic engineering drawings, schematics, block diagrams, and electrical component specifications
