About The Position

The Legal team at United provides advice and counsel on all aspects of the business, assessing legal risks and compliance, while the Ethics and Compliance team ensures ethical operations. Together, these teams help make the best decisions for the airline, ensuring lawful and ethical business practices. The Transactions Manager will be responsible for reviewing, drafting, revising, and negotiating sales agreements and other commercial contracts under the supervision of a managing attorney on the Commercial Transactions team. This role requires independent work with internal clients, outside parties, and customers. The manager will primarily support United’s Worldwide Sales organization, becoming proficient in sales programs and incentive programs for travel management companies, and developing expertise in United's commercial and operational policies. Strong organizational skills are essential for coordinating agreement reviews with internal stakeholders and negotiating edits with external parties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience
  • Finance, Business, Pre-law background
  • Paralegal Certification
  • Strong working knowledge of commercial contract principles and procedures
  • 4+ years working as a transactions manager or a commercial paralegal in a law firm or large publicly traded company
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and strong planning/organization abilities
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Team player with the ability to multi-task and balance competing priorities with short deadlines
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing, revising, drafting, and assisting in the negotiation of a wide range of commercial agreements, including: Corporate travel agreements, Travel Management Company (TMC) agreements, Amendments and addenda to commercial transactions, Non-disclosure agreements, Sponsorship agreements, Promotional agreements, Revenue guarantee agreements, Releases and indemnities, Consulting service agreements, Event contracts with vendors, Hotel contracts, Sustainable aviation fuel agreements, Other agreements, letters, and policies
  • Developing, updating, and maintaining contract templates, forms, and guidelines
  • Working on projects and performing legal research on various topics as assigned
