About The Position

Baker McKenzie is seeking 2L candidates for its 2027 Transactional Summer Associate Program in the New York office. This program is designed to introduce students to the practice of law and explore career opportunities at the firm. Summer Associates will work on a variety of practice assignments aligned with their interests and firm needs, gaining realistic professional experience. They will also collaborate on a signature pro bono project and participate in networking activities and training sessions. Opportunities include potential consideration for the Client Scholars Program, where Summer Associates are seconded to work in-house with a client.

Responsibilities

  • Work on a wide range of practice assignments aligned to their interests and the Firm needs.
  • Provide substantive work of the same caliber as performed by the Firm's lawyers.
  • Collaborate across offices on a signature pro bono project that provides impactful legal services for vulnerable populations.
  • Participate in networking activities and programming to establish working relationships with peers, Partners, and Associates.
  • Participate in a North America Summer Associate Meeting designed to offer skills-based training, practice-based training and in-person networking.
  • Potentially be considered for the Client Scholars Program in which Summer Associates are seconded to work in-house with one of the Firm's clients during the summer.
