About The Position

Jackson LLP is a boutique healthcare law firm seeking a part-time transactional attorney to support its transactional and corporate practice. This is a remote position for an attorney licensed in California and residing in Illinois. The role is ideal for a mid-career attorney with at least four years of post-bar, non-litigation experience, possibly returning to practice after a break, who desires a flexible, part-time role with substantive work and a supportive team. The attorney will work approximately 20 hours per week on a flexible schedule with no billable hour requirement.

Requirements

  • Actively barred in California, with four or more years of experience as a barred attorney
  • Residing in Illinois
  • Experienced in the preparation and negotiation of contracts
  • Experienced in regulatory and transactional work (not litigation), with a general transactional, corporate, or contracts background
  • Extremely detail-oriented and able to deliver error-free work to clients on tight deadlines
  • Able to communicate challenging topics clearly and effectively to clients and colleagues
  • Friendly, and well suited to a mutually supportive, non-competitive work environment
  • Able to work independently and manage a part-time workload with minimal oversight

Responsibilities

  • Draft and review transactional and corporate documents, including contracts, independent contractor agreements, and entity formation materials, in support of the firm’s clients
  • Provide transactional and contracts support on California matters, applying California-specific law where relevant
  • Review and negotiate contract terms on behalf of clients or established practices engaging new personnel
  • Support the firm’s attorneys on day-to-day business and corporate structuring matters for small- to mid-sized healthcare practices and management services organizations
  • Deliver clear, accurate, client-ready work product on agreed timelines
  • Actively engage in continuing education relevant to the firm’s transactional and corporate practice
