About The Position

As the only aerial tramway in Southeast Alaska, guests at the Goldbelt Tram are invited to soar to new heights in scenic adventure aboard Juneau's top attraction. We offer locals and visitors an opportunity to experience breathtaking Alaska scenery, explore the miles of trails atop Mount Roberts, and learn more about Alaska Native culture. Under the direction of the Tram Operations Supervisor and/or Tram Operator, attendant is responsible for loading/unloading passengers on/off an aerial tramway cabin. Attendants also perform cabin attendant duties inside the cabin during passenger transport. We're excited to share that the job is based in beautiful Juneau, Alaska! We kindly ask that all applicants either live in Juneau or be open to relocating at their own expense.

Requirements

Ability to meet time and attendance requirements.
Ability to work all different shifts including days, evenings, holidays and weekends.
Ability to handle stress under pressure.
Ability to provide quality customer service.
Ability to physically climb out of the tramway cabin during Rescue Car Evacuation under the direction of the Director of Ops & Facilities and/or the Tram Operations Manager.
Ability to physically rope evacuate passengers and self from cabin.
Excellent communication and superior customer service skills.
Ability to learn, understand and follow verbal and written instructions/directions.
Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other employees.
Ability to work directly with the public, providing prompt and courteous information and assistance on a daily basis.
Ability/willingness to learn and pass on to guests those areas of interest to visitors, such as local history, people, culture, geography, etc.
Ability to stay calm, cool and collected in the event of a tram operation stoppage of any kind, guests riding with you will be looking to you for guidance and/or direction.
High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
Ability to successfully pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

Prior Tram Operations experience.
Current CPR and first aid certificates.

Responsibilities

Loading/unloading passengers on/off an aerial tramway cabin.
Performing cabin attendant duties inside the cabin during passenger transport.
Ensuring the safe and orderly traffic of passengers on/off an aerial tramway cabin.
Advising and assisting passengers.
Maintaining surveillance of assigned jurisdiction and stopping cabin movement when necessary for safety.
Advising the Tram Operator of any abnormal or unusual occurrences, conditions, or adverse weather conditions.
Responding to abnormal or unusual conditions by assisting passengers, stopping the tram, continuing operation and observation, or denying access.
Keeping current on training related to enclosed cabins, loading/unloading, control center communications, and customer service interaction.
Learning and using manual switches, load limits, passenger capacity, emergency evacuation equipment and procedures, and applicable safety procedures.
Practicing good housekeeping, including cabin cleaning, window cleaning, and loading area maintenance.
Recognizing and communicating problems that would interfere with the safe operation of the tram.
Following emergency evacuation procedures, handling emergency or stressful situations calmly, and assisting with evacuating the cabin.
Working as a team member.
Performing other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
