About The Position

The Training Supervisor provides strategic leadership and oversight of all training programs at a federally contracted ICE residential facility in Alexandria, Louisiana. This position supervises training staff, manages curriculum development and delivery, and ensures employees are trained, qualified, and compliant with all applicable federal regulations, organizational policies, and resident care requirements before assuming assigned duties. The ideal candidate is an experienced training leader with expertise in developing and managing training programs within highly regulated environments and a strong commitment to staff development, compliance, safety, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Training & Development, Human Resources, Social Work, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in training and development, including at least two (2 years) in a supervisory or management role.
  • Experience managing training programs in residential, detention, correctional, healthcare, human services, or other highly regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of federal compliance requirements, PREA standards, etc.
  • Strong leadership, communication, facilitation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain facility security clearance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, is required.
  • Employees must be a U.S. Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English
  • Must show proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Training Specialists and other training personnel, including scheduling, coaching, performance management, and professional development.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the facility's training program, training calendar, policies, procedures, and required reporting.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for training-related compliance, audits, inspections, and government oversight activities.
  • Coordinate training activities across all shifts and departments.
  • Design, review, and maintain training curricula to ensure compliance with federal requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Oversee training programs covering resident care, trauma-informed practices, PREA requirements, emergency preparedness, first aid/CPR, use of force, behavioral management, cultural competency, disability awareness, human trafficking awareness, mandatory reporting requirements, and workplace safety.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of training delivery and provide coaching to ensure consistent, effective instruction.
  • Partner with facility leadership and compliance personnel to ensure training content remains current and compliant.
  • Ensure employees complete all required onboarding and role-specific training before performing independent duties.
  • Oversee orientation, refresher training, continuing education, and leadership development programs.
  • Support workforce readiness through ongoing training initiatives and performance improvement efforts.
  • Maintain training records, certifications, and documentation in accordance with contractual, regulatory, and organizational requirements.
  • Prepare and submit required training reports and documentation.
  • Ensure records remain audit-ready and available for inspections, monitoring visits, and compliance reviews.
  • Oversee training related to emergency response procedures, workplace safety, incident management, and medical emergencies.
  • Ensure staff are prepared to respond effectively to emergencies while maintaining a safe and secure environment.
