About The Position

The Training Specialist, under the direction of the Safety & Compliance Manager, is responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs within the company. This role involves working closely with employees and managers to enhance skills, improve performance, and foster professional development. The specialist will collect feedback, adapt content, and contribute to program design, while also conducting engaging workshops and training sessions. They will assess individual and group performance to evaluate training impact and collaborate with the training team to enhance existing programs and create new ones. Key responsibilities include creating comprehensive lesson plans, training materials, and visual aids, ensuring new drivers and helpers acquire necessary skills for safe and efficient route completion, and providing hands-on training with constructive feedback. The role also involves monitoring compliance with safety rules, regulations, and company expectations, conducting audits to ensure drivers operate vehicles in accordance with OSHA and FMCSA requirements, and performing quality field observations, document inspections, vehicle condition assessments, and overall employee performance evaluations. Keeping training content up-to-date by researching and implementing new approaches is also a crucial part of this position. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Possess a valid Class A or B Driver’s License, required
  • Ability to convey Tiger Sanitation as the obvious choice for our customers, employees, and community

  • 2 years of professional commercial driving experience, preferred
  • 2 or more years of training experience, preferred
