About The Position

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a qualified and motivated Training Specialist to support the Tactical Space Operations Course (TSOC) within the United States Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC). The selected candidate will support the education, training, and professional development of military and civilian personnel in Space and Missile Defense operations while contributing to the development and enhancement of Army Space, High-Altitude, and Global Missile Defense doctrine. The Training Specialist will develop, coordinate, and deliver individual and collective training programs designed to improve operational readiness, mission effectiveness, and war fighter proficiency. This role supports curriculum development, instructional delivery, training assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure training products remain current, relevant, and aligned with Army requirements. The position also supports the U.S. Army Quality Assurance Program by assisting with the evaluation and improvement of training, education, and leader development programs to ensure compliance with established standards and objectives. The Training Specialist will work closely with government personnel to support the Functional Training Division, Space Operations Training Branch, and Tactical Space Operations Course mission requirements.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
  • 5+ years of space related military experience as an NCO or Officer
  • Travel as required to support training events and mission requirements
  • Experience in Army Space Operations, including space mission areas, space organizations, and integration of space capabilities into Multi-Domain Operations (MDO), targeting, and the Army Operations Process
  • Strong understanding of Space Fundamentals and Army space-enabled capabilities
  • Familiarity with Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) applications, including Fusion Analysis Development Effort (FADE), GPS Interference, Navigation Tool (GIANT), and Integrated Solutions for Situational Awareness (ISSA)
  • Experience teaching, training, or instructing military personnel
  • Knowledge of military operations and the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP)
  • Understanding of instructional systems design methodologies, including the ADDIE model
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively brief senior leaders and communicate complex space concepts to non-space audiences
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and curriculum development skills
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

  • MOSQ: FA40, Space 200, ASCBC, ASCF, TSOC, Space Control System Operator, or other relevant space courses
  • Previous instructor-facilitator experience; graduate of a military instructor training course (CFD-IC, ITC/SGITC, FIFC, ABIC, AFBIC, etc.)
  • Experience in Army space operations; space mission areas; space organizations; and space integration into multi-domain operations, targeting, and the Army operations process

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Army Space Operations, space capabilities, and the integration of space effects into military operations
  • Provide instruction and training support for one or more Space and Missile Defense School (SMDS) courses
  • Deliver classroom and hands-on instruction on tactical Army Space operations, including Space Situational Awareness (SSA) applications, Space analysis and satellite imagery applications, Geospatial applications, Distributive Common Ground Station-Army (DCGS-A) and Command Post Computing Environment (CPCE) capabilities, Server operations and multi-function workstation capabilities, and Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) for integrating space mission products, planning tools, and intelligence products
  • Develop, update, and maintain lesson plans, training materials, course content, and evaluation criteria
  • Analyze, design, develop, implement, evaluate, and maintain training programs in accordance with TRADOC Regulation (TR) 350-70 series and Army accreditation standards
  • Conduct research on emerging threats and impacts to Army space-enabled capabilities; update or develop training materials to ensure relevance and accuracy
  • Coordinate with SMDS training divisions to ensure courseware remains aligned with current Army doctrine, institutional training, and operational requirements
  • Conduct and document After Action Reviews (AARs) to identify trends, lessons learned, and opportunities for curriculum improvement
  • Utilize Army and Government software applications to support instruction and student training
  • Support the development of Army doctrine, training requirements, and leader development initiatives related to Space and Missile Defense
  • Collaborate with government, military, and contractor personnel to enhance training effectiveness and mission readiness
