About The Position

The Training Specialist is responsible for conducting professional, consistent, and quality-driven classroom training for all new hires. This role facilitates computer-based training programs and conducts classroom presentations as part of the 2 Day NETP Class. The specialist will present various training modules including Welcome, New Employee Orientation, Safety, Excellence in Customer Service, and Techniques of Alcohol Management. Additionally, the role involves conducting and tracking Techniques of Alcohol Management (TAM 01 and TAM02) training, partnering with Training Store Managers for a cohesive training experience, and managing new hire administrative tasks such as scheduling, tracking through Workday, processing paperwork, and verifying identification for I-9 requirements. The specialist also processes new hire social security numbers through E-Verify, maintains uniform counts, screens potential candidates, dispenses new hire materials, and maintains a clean training facility. The role requires adherence to state, federal, and company guidelines, and contribution to team efforts through additional assignments.

Requirements

  • High School diploma
  • 3-5 years retail and/or training experience
  • Computer literate in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage multiple activities
  • Strong emphasis on detail
  • Ability to communicate professionally both verbally and written
  • Ability to always maintain a positive team attitude and professional demeanor
  • Self-motivated to accomplish all assigned duties in a set timeframe
  • Reliable transportation to cover other training facilities during vacations or as needed

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a positive team attitude and professional demeanor, prioritizing Circle K’s values and initiatives.
  • Conduct professional, consistent, and quality-driven classroom training for all new hires, demonstrating proficiency in all training lessons and policies.
  • Facilitate computer-based training programs and conduct classroom presentations as part of the 2 Day NETP Class to satisfy training and development needs.
  • Present Welcome, New Employee Orientation, Safety, Excellence in Customer Service, and Techniques of Alcohol Management professionally to all new hires.
  • Conduct and track Techniques of Alcohol Management (TAM 01) training for all employees in respective regions every two years or as needed.
  • Conduct and track Techniques of Alcohol Management 02 (TAM02) for Store Managers in assigned regions.
  • Partner with Training Store Manager to present a cohesive, positive hands-on training experience, adhering to the 5 Golden Rules of the Training Store.
  • Verify, schedule, and track all new hires through Workday.
  • Process all new hire paperwork to ensure accuracy and legality by verifying proper identification for I-9 requirements.
  • Process all new hire’s social security number through E-Verify and consistently follow up on any issues.
  • Maintain accurate uniform count and report numbers on a weekly basis, verifying received orders and updating the uniform count spreadsheet.
  • Screen potential candidates and provide updates or potential issues to the Market Manager/Region Operations Director and Training Manager.
  • Dispense uniform(s), nametag, and In Store Training Passport to all trainees during NETP.
  • Maintain a clean training facility, including cleaning restrooms, vacuuming, mopping, and disinfecting equipment.
  • Follow state, federal, and company guidelines.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing all additional assignments as needed.
