About The Position

The Training Specialist will focus on supporting campus-wide academic technology initiatives related to training and facilitation of EAB implementation, course evaluation initiatives, academic integrity efforts, and the responsible use of AI in teaching and learning. This position will use established training and facilitation practices to deliver high-quality, audience-responsive sessions that accelerate faculty, staff, and CSU readiness for academic technology transitions and meet people where they are.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, communication, technology, UI/UX, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience teaching, facilitating, or leading initiative or product-based trainings in an education or an enterprise learning and development setting.
  • Demonstrated experience tracking objectives and key performance indicators for learners or users.
  • Familiarity with learner/training engagement strategies.
  • Excellent visual, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to recognize and successfully resolve ambiguity with decorum.
  • Ability to accept and integrate feedback well.
  • Skill in teaching oneself as well as others difficult topics.
  • Experience working and communicating effectively with project stakeholders and contributors at various levels within an organization.
  • Experience working and communicating effectively with stakeholders and partners.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in education, communication, technology, UI/UX, or a related field.
  • More than 5 years of experience in leading training and facilitation at an institution of higher education.
  • Familiarity with faculty engagement strategies and/or student advising and success platforms.
  • UT systems and academic technology-related initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and deliver training sessions for faculty and staff— in-person, virtual, asynchronous, hybrid — across multiple university audiences (CSUs, faculty, staff, students, and administrators) following established best practices.
  • Adapt facilitation approach and pacing in real time based on audience needs, technical proficiency levels, and participant feedback to maximize engagement and learning transfer.
  • Manage training logistics, including scheduling, registration, communications, room/technology setup, and participant tracking in coordination with the Project Manager's timeline.
  • Collect and synthesize an array of data, including participant feedback, attendance, session-level observations, learner self-efficacy, and learning indicators to provide actionable insights, track progress on objectives and key performance indicators and to support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Build and maintain scalable self-service support resources (knowledge bases, FAQs, quick-start materials) to extend training reach beyond live sessions and sustain long-term adoption.
