About The Position

We are hiring either a Training Specialist or Senior Training Specialist, depending on experience and qualifications. Both roles are responsible for delivering engaging, learner-centered training across the full core banking curriculum, demonstrating effective facilitation skills and adaptability in both classroom and virtual environments. This position is responsible for preparing and delivering established training programs that support employee performance and business objectives. The Training Specialist/Senior Training Specialist contributes to the maintenance and improvement of training materials, assisting with content updates and instructional design efforts to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with policies and procedures. As a member of the training team, this position supports consistent, high-quality learning experiences by providing insight into learner performance, assisting with training initiatives, and serving as backup support across programs as needed. This role focuses on strong execution, continuous skill development, and building foundational expertise in facilitation and training delivery. In addition, the Senior Training Specialist partners with training leadership to support program development, contributes to instructional design, and drives continuous improvement in training effectiveness. As a senior team member, this position provides insights into learner performance, supports key initiatives, and helps ensure high-quality, consistent training experiences across the organization.

Requirements

  • A high School diploma, G.E.D or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 3 years of banking or financial services experience.
  • Experience facilitating group discussions, training sessions, or presentations, with the ability to engage an audience.
  • Ability to translate complex or detailed information into clear, practical, and learner-friendly content.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A working knowledge of banking products, services, systems, policies, and procedures, or the ability to quickly acquire and apply this knowledge.
  • Proficient with standard business and training technology (e.g., Microsoft Office, Power Point, virtual meeting platforms such as Teams or Zoom).
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and navigate a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to research, interpret, and prioritize information using sound judgment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including professional presence and effective collaboration with diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrate professional conduct and the ability to maintain the confidentiality of employee and bank information.
  • Ability to travel to other Peoples Bank locations and off-site for meetings and/or training as required.

  • A minimum 3–5 years of experience delivering instructor-led training, facilitation, or adult learning programs.
  • Demonstrated advanced facilitation skills with strong classroom presence and audience engagement.
  • Proven ability to facilitate both in-person and virtual training sessions with strong presentation presence and learner engagement techniques.
  • Experience supporting projects, initiatives, or system implementations in a training or change support capacity preferred.
  • Proficient with training tools and technology (e.g., virtual platforms, LMS, presentation tools).

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating instructor-led training across the core banking curriculum in both classroom and virtual environments, delivering consistent, high-quality learning experiences.
  • Preparing and delivering training sessions using established curriculum, ensuring alignment with organizational policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Demonstrating effective facilitation skills, creating a positive and engaging learning environment that supports participant understanding and application.
  • Supporting learner development by providing feedback during and after training sessions; escalating performance concerns as appropriate.
  • Collaborating with Training team and leadership to maintain and update training materials for accuracy and clarity.
  • Assisting in the development and revision of training content, job aids, and support materials.
  • Partnering with internal departments and subject matter experts to deliver training that meets business needs.
  • Delivering webinars and virtual learning sessions using established content and tools.
  • Supporting training efforts for new systems, processes, or initiatives by participating in delivery and preparation activities.
  • Gathering and sharing participant feedback to support continuous improvement of training programs.
  • Maintaining knowledge of bank products, services, systems, and procedures to ensure effective training delivery.
  • Providing on-site training support as needed, including occasional travel and overnight stays.
  • Participating in team meetings, ongoing development activities, and training initiatives to build facilitation and instructional skills.
  • Supporting the implementation of new systems, processes, and initiatives by contributing to training strategy, curriculum design, and delivery.
  • Participating in and contributing to cross-functional projects, providing training expertise, facilitation support, and change enablement.
  • Collaborating with the Assistant Manager and training leadership to support departmental initiatives, projects, and process improvements.
  • Researching and recommending innovative training methods, tools, and technologies to enhance learner engagement and effectiveness.
  • Staying current on industry trends, banking practices, and learning methodologies to continuously enhance training delivery and content quality.
