About The Position

GDIT is seeking a versatile and motivated Instructor to join their team to develop, organize, and conduct training and educational programs for fleet sailors in support of the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Training Facility, Pacific (LTFPAC) Learning Site in San Diego, CA. The candidate will serve as a Navy Subject Matter Expert for the development and delivery of the LCS Tactical Action Officer (TAO) material to Officer and Enlisted students. When required, the candidate would provide subject matter expertise in support of curriculum development and delivery of other SCSTC courses supporting the U.S. Navy team of professionals. This role involves providing dynamic teaching, training, and assessment that require advanced knowledge of U.S. Navy LCS Combat Systems Capabilities and Limitations to the Officer level. The candidate must be prepared to support the Train to Qualify (T2Q) and TYCOM Training and Certification (TTC) processes utilizing shore-based trainers, requiring dynamic assessment of watchstanders during integrated scenarios. Responsibilities include preparing, reviewing, and customizing curriculum lesson plans and instructor guides, supporting Formal Course Reviews and Curriculum Updates, conducting training gap analysis, and providing feedback for course improvement. The role also involves developing, testing, maintaining, and delivering moderately complex Navy Combat Systems training programs and related materials, establishing and reviewing course content and objectives, conducting training sessions, and developing criteria for evaluating training effectiveness. Maintaining records of training activities, participant progress, and program effectiveness, as well as current knowledge of relevant technologies, is also required. Primary instruction will be in LCS-2 Tactical Action Officer (TAO) and LCS-2 Unit Tactical Training (UTT)/Crew Certification Training. Additional trainer support will be required to act as Warfare Commander in scenario/lab-based training environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work/military experience.
• Eight (8) years of experience with the required system or process as either a maintenance technician manager or operator manager with responsibility for teaching the applicable system or function task to others in a master level training environment.
• Experience as a qualified US Navy Tactical Action Officer (TAO) with relevant shipboard experience.
• Two (2) years of experience as an instructor in a Navy Training Environment, to include curriculum maintenance, writing learning objectives, preparing test items, evaluating instructional materials and the results of instruction and counseling students on academic learning problems.
• One (1) year relevant experience interfacing with training systems/simulations for effective and correct presentation of learning objectives.
• Active Secret Clearance required.
• Must be able to support a second shift work schedule on a rotational basis.
• Must be able to support training with extended periods on your feet while instructing.
• US Citizenship Required.
