About The Position

The Training Specialist is responsible for facilitating a variety of performance-based learning events that may include, but are not limited to general associate, management, clinical, technical and operations training. Trainer serves as a subject matter expert in care coordination, person-centered planning, HCBS services, and regulatory compliance, while supporting staff competency and quality outcomes across LTSS.

Requirements

  • Requires BA/BS in related field and a minimum of 4 years training experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Four years of clinical or sales experience or certification/license in the appropriate field may be required.
  • Previous international training experience may be required.
  • Tennessee's CHOICES program experience is essential.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with Facets, HIP Product (HIP 2.0), TMV (total member view), MACESS, ACMP highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of TennCare MCO Contract, HCBS Final Rule, Person-Centered Planning, NF diversion and transition processes, risk assessment and care planning preferred
  • CHOICES Care Coordinator, Support Coordinator, RN, LBSW/LMSW, or equivalent LTSS experience preferred.
  • Degree in Nursing, Social Work, Healthcare Administration, Education, Public Health preferred.
  • Experience developing and facilitating adult learning programs preferred.
  • Experience in virtual and in person learning environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates learning events that are performance-based in nature.
  • Delivers synchronous and asynchronous learning events using varied media in virtual and in person environments.
  • Employs rapid course development methodologies to quickly meet business needs.
  • Exercises classroom management including learner performance and escalates issues to management and LTSS leadership when necessary.
  • Measures, tracks and evaluates learner and training effectiveness.
  • Thinks and acts globally and is aware of adult learning and cultural differences that drive learner effectiveness.
  • Keeps technical skills updated.
  • Travels to worksite and other locations as necessary.
