About The Position

The Training Specialist II will provide a variety of training activities for employees at the University of Texas Medical Branch. This role involves planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating continuing educational programs, skills training, and management development programs for employees. The specialist will also assist departments in determining and addressing their training needs, maintain records and reports, coordinate community educational resources, assist with in-service programs, and supervise other training specialists.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field
  • One-year related experience

Nice To Haves

  • American Heart Association (AHA) Instructor certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, implements, and evaluates continuing educational programs, skills training and management development programs for employees.
  • Assists departments in determining training needs and makes recommendations concerning these needs.
  • Maintains records and reports, such as EEO statistics on employee attendance and completion of training activities.
  • Coordinates use of community educational resources for employee development.
  • Assists departments in providing specialized in-service programs.
  • Supervises classes of other training specialists.
  • Adheres to internal controls established for department.
  • Performs related duties as required.
