The Training Officer position is a full-time, FLSA Non-Exempt role requiring 40 hours per week. The salary for this position is $146,701. This role is benefits eligible. The application period is from July 22nd to August 2nd. Applicants must have all required courses and certifications at the time of application, unless exceptions are noted. The position is open to any Firefighter EMT/Paramedic Grade I with one (1) year full-time experience and/or any Engineer with one (1) year full-time experience, or any promoted Lieutenant or Captain. Preference will be given to applicants with a strong background in firefighting tools, techniques, and tactics, and holding DFPC Pumper and Aerial certifications, and/or DFPC Fire Officer II certification. Appointed individuals will be paid the Administrative Lieutenant salary or the Administrative Captain salary, depending on their rank and additional responsibilities. Appointed individuals are requested to commit for a minimum of two (2) years. If an appointed individual returns to the Line, they will revert to their operational rank unless they compete in a formal promotional process. The work schedule is a conventional 40-hour work week (Monday-Friday, 0700-1500), subject to adjustment based on division needs, with overtime requiring approval from the Division Chief of Training. The primary work location is headquarters, with the use of a district vehicle while at work, subject to adjustment based on division needs. The selection process is scheduled between August 3rd and 7th, with the goal for an individual to transfer to the 40-hour week schedule starting August 9th.
