About The Position

This position is located in the city of Sacramento Multiple vacancies may exist." Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager II, the Training Officer II (TO II) is responsible for the oversight and supervision of the Staff Development Unit (SDU). The incumbent is responsible for supervising professional and analytical staff, overseeing the development and delivery of department-wide training programs, and ensuring alignment with DOR's mission to promote employment, independence, and equality for individuals with disabilities. The TO II is responsible for leading, planning, organizing, and evaluating the DOR's statewide training program; responding to departmental in-service and outservice training needs and developing and implementing DOR's department's training policy in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations. The incumbent is expected to report to the office at minimum 2 days per week, or more based on operational needs. Telework: Under Government Code 14200, this position is a hybrid, in-office/telework position, and may be subject to change. Incumbent must live and work in California. Incumbent can be required to report to the office, or any designated location at any time. Telework agreements can be modified and/or cancelled at any time. Requirements

  • Highly analytical with the ability to plan strategically.
  • Skillset in curriculum design, including e-learning courses.
  • Ability to lead a team of diverse professionals with various backgrounds skillsets and abilities.
  • Proficiency in using Zoom and MS Teams as delivery platforms.
  • Knowledge and experience with using a Learning Management System (LMS).

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of internal and external contacts in a professional manner, and with integrity and respect
  • Ability to help facilitate expeditious resolution of problems from in-person requests, incoming phone calls and emails
  • Knowledge of DOR resources and processes, RAM, and federal and state Code of Regulations
  • High level of organizational skills and office equipment and processes proficiency
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Knowledge of department's mission and goals
  • Experience communicating with and providing information regarding DOR services to applicants and consumers
