About The Position

The Training Manager is responsible for delivering and evaluating training programs for new hires and current employees to ensure a qualified, compliant security workforce. This role conducts training using various instructional methods, monitors training effectiveness, and supports firearms proficiency as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of training and field supervision experience in civilian community law enforcement, military service law enforcement or commercial/industrial security force service.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations using English language.
  • Ability to write routine reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, other employees of the organization and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions and percentages.
  • Ability to apply concepts as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of Internet programs and learning management systems.
  • Current/valid state driver’s license
  • CPR/AED/First Aid Certification
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and at least 21 years of age.
  • Must hold, or be able to obtain and maintain, required instructor certifications, including an approved and accredited Firearms Instructor/Range Official certification (e.g., NRA, Police Academy, State POST Academy, FLETC, or military), as well as certifications in First Aid, CPR/AED, Defensive Tactics, Handcuffing, Baton, OC Spray, and Firearms Instruction.
  • Must be NRA or State certified as a Firearms Instructor.
  • Must be eligible for and maintain U.S. Government suitability for work on federal contracts and successfully complete the Federal Protective Service National Weapons Detection Training Program.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and conduct required training programs for new hires and current employees.
  • Monitor, evaluate, or record training activities for program effectiveness.
  • Offer specific training programs to help workers maintain or improve job skills; develop alternative training methods if expected improvements are not seen.
  • Organize and develop, or obtain, training procedure manuals and course materials such as handouts and visual materials.
  • Present information using a variety of instructional techniques or formats such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, or lectures.
  • Evaluate training materials prepared by instructors, such as outlines, text, or handouts.
  • Provide instruction to new hires and current employees as required to maintain and improve marksmanship skills.
