About The Position

A public safety emergency communications operation in Washington, DC is seeking a Training & Development Specialist to support the professional growth of 911 call center personnel. This role is responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs that ensure operational competency and consistency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • At least 2 years of experience as an emergency communications operator in a 911 call center
  • Strong knowledge of emergency communications systems and procedures
  • Understanding of FCC regulations related to 911 operations
  • Knowledge of training principles and adult learning best practices
  • Ability to instruct staff on CAD , E-911 systems, and communication technologies
  • Ability to write clear and accurate policies, SOPs, and training materials
  • Ability to multitask and quickly evaluate emergency communication scenarios
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver onboarding and continuing education programs
  • Train new and experienced emergency communications staff
  • Monitor trainee performance and provide feedback and evaluations
  • Coordinate training logistics and instructional activities
  • Review and update training materials to reflect operational changes
  • Ensure training aligns with regulatory and policy requirements
