About The Position

This position develops and delivers training and organizational services to Department of Corrections’ re-entry, programs and treatment services personnel. This position evaluates training curriculum and training needs of target audience and aligns these with agency business practices.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of correctional practices, policies, and treatment paradigms applicable to adult inmate populations.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional methodologies, including effective in-person and virtual facilitation techniques.
  • Demonstrated competence in the design, development, implementation, and delivery of training programs.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers and a variety of software applications to support training and administrative functions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with diverse audiences and stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Motivational Interviewing techniques in a clinical setting.
  • Experience using Cognitive Behavioral and Relapse Prevention models of treatment in a clinical setting.
  • Experience working in an adult correctional setting.
  • Experience facilitating inmate treatment programs.
  • Extensive knowledge of correctional practices and treatment paradigms.
  • Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) General Instructor Certification.
  • Certification and experience as a Substance Use Disorder counselor/ Service provider.
