About The Position

This role is responsible for assisting Plant Supervisors with training and record-keeping for team members in assigned areas. The specialist will become familiar with all plant operations processes, adhere to company policies, and conduct training evaluations. They will ensure all training documents are current and re-train as needed. The role also supports audits, assists with equipment setup training, and provides on-the-floor coaching and feedback to both new and existing team members. Maintaining knowledge of safety policies, USDA, GMPs, QA, HACCP, and sanitation regulations is crucial. The expectation is to spend 80% of the shift on the floor, and the role may assist with onboarding and other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • High school graduated preferred and/or a minimum of 4 years supervisory experience.
  • Able to speak/ present to large groups of people on a regular basis.
  • Able to flexibility with schedule - may have to work earlier/ later or on weekends training dependent.
  • APTD certification or willingness to take continuous education.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks.
  • Investigates cause of product non-conformance and initiates corrective actions in a timely manner.
  • Contacts key personnel authorized to execute the appropriate actions to eliminate the problem and assist in other duties and special projects as delegated by supervision or management.
  • Bi-Lingual (English and Spanish) highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Plant Supervisors with training and record keeping for each team member in their assigned area.
  • Be familiar with all plant operations processes.
  • Knowledge of and adhere to company policy and procedures.
  • Conducts weekly, monthly, and yearly training evaluations or as needed.
  • Verifies that all training documents are the correct version and re-train if necessary (OPL’s, SWS, SOP’s etc.).
  • Supports all activities, if needed, for audits, customer or third party, such as USDA and BRC standards as needed.
  • Assists on training team members on how to set up equipment at start up and monitors training progress during the entire operation.
  • Assist with on-the-floor training by providing coaching, on the spot corrections, and making recommendations as necessary during the entire process for both new TM’s and existing TM’s.
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of, and adherence to safety policies, USDA, GMP’s QA, HACCP, Sanitation rules and regulations and others.
  • Spend 80% of their shift on the floor; training, providing feedback, and evaluating team members in their assigned areas.
  • Assist in onboarding from orientation as needed.
  • Regular and dependable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by Training and Development Supervisor.
