About The Position

This role is responsible for assisting plant supervisors with training and record-keeping for team members. The specialist will gain knowledge of all plant operations processes and adhere to company policies. Key duties include conducting training evaluations, verifying training document versions, supporting audits, and providing on-the-floor training, coaching, and feedback. A significant portion of the role (80%) involves floor time for training and evaluation. The specialist will also assist with onboarding and perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • High school graduate preferred and/or a minimum of 4 years supervisory experience.
  • Able to speak/present to large groups of people on a regular basis.
  • Able to be flexible with schedule - may have to work earlier/later or on weekends.
  • APTD certification or willingness to take continuous education.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks.
  • Investigates cause of product non-conformance and initiates corrective actions.
  • Contacts key personnel authorized to execute appropriate actions to eliminate problems.
  • Assists in other duties and special projects as delegated by supervision or management.

  • Bi-Lingual (English and Spanish) highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist plant supervisors with training and record keeping for team members.
  • Be familiar with all plant operations processes.
  • Conduct weekly, monthly, and yearly training evaluations.
  • Verify that all training documents are the correct version and re-train if necessary.
  • Support audits (USDA, BRC standards) as needed.
  • Train team members on equipment setup and monitor progress during operations.
  • Provide on-the-floor training, coaching, and corrections for new and existing team members.
  • Maintain knowledge of and adhere to safety policies, USDA, GMPs, QA, HACCP, and Sanitation rules.
  • Spend 80% of the shift on the floor training, providing feedback, and evaluating team members.
  • Assist in onboarding from orientation.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Training and Development Supervisor.
