The Trainer, Lines position requires the individual to organize and maintain training files and records, prepare and present written and oral reports, and conduct training for large and small groups in both classroom and field settings. This role involves conducting assessments and evaluations of training programs to determine their effectiveness. The trainer will be responsible for training and testing various personnel, including Journeymen and Apprentices. A comprehensive understanding of current installation and maintenance procedures for overhead and underground distribution, along with familiarity with all applicable safety standards, is essential. The position demands the ability to read and comprehend technical material, instruction manuals, and textbooks to train others in the maintenance and installation of new and existing equipment. A thorough knowledge of and the ability to administer the Lineman Apprenticeship Agreement between NV Energy and IBEW Local 1245 is required. The role also includes performing switching duties and other related tasks as required, with the possibility of working in a qualified classification as needed. The position requires the individual to maintain the skills and qualifications of an Electric Lineman. This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) under Title 49 CFR Part 382 and Part 40. Any applicant/employee who is licensed and would operate a commercial vehicle for the Company will be subject to drug and alcohol testing under the Company’s FMCSA drug and alcohol testing programs.
