About The Position

The Pallet Jack/Forklift Operator is responsible for transporting materials and product using a Pallet Jack or Fork Lift truck. Unloads deliveries of raw materials, provides an initial inspection of product for quality and fit for use in product. Retrieves pallets of finished product and transports to the Freezer. Examines finished products to verify conformance to quality standards according to vendor specifications. Delivers raw material to production area for use.

Requirements

Ability to stand/walk for up to 8 hours a day.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (items in excess of 50lbs will require a team lift).
Communication skills to communicate with other departments using a radio.
Physically able to withstand temperatures ranging from -10° to approx. 40°.
Must wear proper PPE: Freezer Gear when in the shipping area, Hard hat, Hairnet/beard net, Steel-toe/composite-toe footwear that has a slip resistant surface.
No jewelry is allowed in production/shipping areas.
Ability to stand for up to 8 hours a day.
Ability to physically withstand temperature variances ranging from -10° to approx. 40°.
Ability to safely and effectively operate the Pallet Jack/Forklift.
Required to pass an on-site eye exam annually using corrective lenses if needed.
Required to view training videos and successfully pass the associated tests.
Possess strength, stamina and mobility to operate Powered Industrial Equipment in all conditions and with exposure to potentially hazardous conditions.
Ability to read printed materials and a computer screen.
Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone or radio.
Must maintain Pallet Jack/ Forklift license and operate PIE in a safe manner.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as stated above.

Responsibilities

Unloading deliveries of raw materials.
Providing an initial inspection of product for quality and fit for use in product.
Retrieving pallets of finished product and transporting to the Freezer.
Examining finished products to verify conformance to quality standards according to vendor specifications.
Delivering raw material to production area for use.
Completing Pre-use Inspection form, removing any unsafe equipment from operation and report issues immediately to Supervisor.
Punctuality and Adherence to all safety policies, general manufacturing policies, and food safety guidelines.
Completion of assigned tasks in a safe and timely fashion.
Completing tasks without constant supervision.
