This opportunity is for a Trainee Phlebotomist/Administrative Assistant at One Medical in Hanover, NH. No prior phlebotomy or medical assistant experience is required. We are looking for motivated individuals eager to make a difference in patient care. As a Lab Services Specialist/Member Support Specialist Trainee, you will provide exceptional care and support to patients, while training to perform venipuncture and other clinical support services. You will remove barriers to care with a strong drive for service and human connection. You will be the first point of contact for patients, manage the office space, and provide support as requested by the Practice Coordinator, Operations Manager, or providers. You are a strong team player with innovative problem-solving skills, using empathy, focus, and compassion in all interactions. You apply tactful interpersonal skills with patients at the front desk and in the lab. You thrive in cultures that emphasize feedback and growth and are adaptable to the needs of patients and the team.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in high-touch customer or patient-facing roles.
  • Strong customer service skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective customer relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in computer technology such as typing, navigating the internet, and using multiple software systems simultaneously.
  • Experience working on collaborative, diverse, multi-disciplinary teams (additional experience with remote teams is a plus).
  • A proven ability to display confidence and instill trust with patients while delivering individualized, human-centered, customer-focused care.
  • A proven track record of persisting through change, consistently stepping up to take action on challenges, and learning quickly and effectively when faced with new situations or tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Use C-I-CARE framework in all patient interactions to ensure a positive in-office experience through patient intake, same-day schedule management, appropriate follow-up scheduling, strong knowledge of billing and insurance, monitoring patient feedback, and assisting with outreach.
  • Perform all front-of-house duties including check-in/check-out, insurance verification, printing/paperwork tasks, prepping tests, and meeting service level expectations.
  • Contribute to team development through rounding, attending team huddles, participating in team problem-solving, and supporting in-office providers with ad hoc requests.
  • Master the technology suite including Slack, G-suite, Zoom, and the Electronic Medical Record System (1Life) for team and patient interactions and daily tasks.
  • Perform opening and closing duties and daily office upkeep, including maintaining the appearance of patient and employee spaces, restocking supplies, and organization.
  • Successfully complete One Medical clinical training and state-required education/certifications within the first six months of employment (sponsored by One Medical).
  • Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 60 days of hire, based on guidelines within a specific metropolitan statistical area (sponsored by One Medical).
  • Provide best-in-class venipuncture services on a population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics (future responsibility).
  • Perform and assist with extended scope duties such as non-blood specimen collection, EKGs/ECGs, vitals, ear lavages, vaccines, PPD tests, and swabs (future responsibility).
  • Maintain high standards of in-office care through proper specimen labeling, handling, processing, inventory upkeep, and tool sterilization (future responsibility).
  • Care for members beyond the lab room by answering patient messages, following up on lab cases, and assisting providers and the virtual medical team with clerical duties such as medical record and consult review, billing inquiries, and DOH reporting (future responsibility).
