Trainee Locomotive Driver
About The Position
Aurizon’s Bluff depot is seeking expressions of interest from safety focused individuals who would like to undertake training to become a locomotive driver. To excel in this position you will relish the opportunity to learn new skills and put into practice what you are taught in the classroom to become a professional train operator. This role operates on a 24x7 rotating shift roster, 365 days a year, including nights, weekends, and public holidays. The trainee will apply theoretical knowledge from training to practical operation, work in accordance with Aurizon's safety and operational standards and procedures, and undertake Locomotive driver training, successfully completing all modules.
Requirements
- All-encompassing focus on safety along with great interpersonal skills
- Superior team work skills
- Must be available to work 24/7 shift roster which incorporates nights, weekends and public holidays
- Current unrestricted Class C drivers licence
- Be available to commence September 2026 and not have any prior commitments for the first 9 months of the training program
- Be available to be away from home for training for extended periods
