About The Position

This position will perform varied manual labor work in the Marathon County park, specifically the Marathon Junction facility. Under immediate supervision, work duties are primarily train operation, maintenance, event support and custodial services. Work is more than ordinary difficulty requiring certain techniques or special knowledge which generally are acquired through experience on the job. Flexible scheduling, hours will vary based on candidate availability, department needs, and weather.

Requirements

At least 18 years of age.
Valid driver’s license and a driving history that meets County standards.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to complete written communications, reports, documents etc.
Ability to perform varied tasks to completion without immediate supervision.
Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions (sun, heat, humidity, rain, cold).
High Physical Requirements - Job requires significant physical exertion, with tasks that involve more active movement. This job may include standing for long periods, lifting heavy objects, or engaging in manual labor.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of building and grounds maintenance activities and processes preferred.
Relevant vocational training or prior experience in a specific trade can be beneficial.
Previous experience with vehicles and equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

Assists the public in a friendly and professional manner.
May operate an amusement train ride.
Assist with the daily cleaning, trash removal and maintenance of facility and grounds, chemicals and cleaning agents may be used in performing these tasks.
May set up and tear down facilities for special events or rental groups.
May operate food service equipment and vend food and beverages to the public
May operate a cash register.
Completes written work communication such as daily inventory sheets, equipment maintenance requests, time sheets, incident reports etc as needed.
Performs other related work as required.
