About The Position

The Train Crew member provides a positive and safe experience for Branson Scenic Railway passengers. The role involves greeting and engaging customers at the depot, during boarding and de-boarding, and throughout excursions or events. The employee works with other departments to create positive guest experiences and follows company procedures, safety requirements, and operating rules. This is a seasonal, hourly, non-exempt position in Branson, Missouri, paying $15.00–$20.00 per hour. The schedule varies according to the train schedule. Work takes place on and off the train, across varied terrain and in all weather, during daylight and dark hours.

Requirements

• Communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
• Be able to remain on their feet for up to 12 hours.
• Be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Be able to ascend and descend train steps and ladders, and crawl on, under, and around locomotives and passenger cars while performing needed maintenance functions.
• Have good balance and equilibrium to walk on moving trains and on graveled, uneven, sloped, wet, or slippery surfaces while carrying a lantern and flashlight.
• Possess organizational skills and be able to multitask while prioritizing workload with a practical, flexible, and innovative approach.
• Communicate successfully with a variety of personalities and function effectively as a team member.

Responsibilities

• Greet and engage customers as part of the Branson Scenic Railway experience, including at the depot, during boarding and de-boarding, and throughout excursions or events.
• Work with other departments as part of a team to provide passengers and guests with positive memories.
• Demonstrate strong customer service skills when engaging with customers.
• Comply with Branson Scenic Railway procedures, safety requirements, and operating rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
