About The Position

Pacific Rail Services (PRS) is hiring full-time Rail Terminal Train Conductors to work at the CSX Intermodal Terminal in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. The position primarily involves moving railcars and locomotives within the intermodal yard. Paid training is provided, and previous railroad experience is preferred but not required. Starting pay is $21.23 per hour, with an additional $1.50 per hour upon certification as a Train Conductor and another $1.50 per hour upon certification as a Locomotive Engineer. Employees are paid weekly. This is a union position represented by Teamsters Local 776, with opportunities for advancement and additional certifications. Applicants must live within 45 minutes of the terminal. Employees are hired directly by PRS and are not employees of the railroad.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass FRA standard vision and hearing examinations.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to climb, walk on uneven surfaces, and perform physical labor safely.
• Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
• Must live within 45 minutes of the terminal.

Nice To Haves

• Previous railroad experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Safely move railcars and locomotives within the intermodal yard.
• Operate track switches.
• Connect and disconnect air hoses.
• Communicate with crew members using radios, hand signals, and verbal commands.
• Follow all safety rules and operating procedures.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
