Trails Utility Worker I - Denver Parks and Recreation
About The Position
Denver Parks and Recreation (DPR) is seeking a full-time Urban Trails Utility Worker to perform maintenance operations on off-street urban trails, parkways and paths, and nearby areas including Denver’s prized riparian and natural areas. This position is critical to ensuring the safety and beauty of Denver's off-street urban trails system which is widely used by bicyclists, walkers, and joggers for recreation as well as commuting and transportation. Requirements

Responsibilities
- Work outdoors in urban parks and on inner-city connector trails, using and maintaining various hand-powered tools and motorized equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Perform minor trails maintenance and construction work to natural/soft surfaces and hard surfaces
- Perform natural and riparian areas management and restoration including noxious weed management, and native plant identification, cultivation, and care
- Perform landscape maintenance work in areas nearby trails such as trimming, mowing, de-weeding
- Interact with and learn alongside more seasoned park maintenance generalists and/or specialists and other experts in unique green industry fields and skilled trades work
- Perform snow removal operations such as plowing, shoveling, de-icing
- Perform various related duties as needed such as trash collection and vandalism repair/graffiti removal
